Friends With Children: Who Makes Jon Hamm?

Friends With Children: Who Makes Jon Hamm?: When I found friends with the children opened last night at the theater in my area without a long break, I impulsively threw a pair of tickets that I bought for another film set at the same time. I must confess that I am crazy about Mad Men and AMC was morbidly curious to know more about Jon Hamm (true gift Draper) and his significant other for 14 years, Jennifer Westfeldt.

Westfeldt, who gained popularity as the star of the indie film Kissing Jessica 2001 Stein wrote, directed, produced and stars of friends with children. The film has collected a lot of advertising, probably because of its leading actors, which also includes Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation NBC), Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig (Saturday Night Live), Chris O'Dowd, Megan Fox and Edward Burns. But I'm sure I'm not the only one who went into an intriguing film, to see who lives with Jon Hamm in real life.

The story of friends with children, focuses on two New Yorkers thirty something new, platonic friends, Julia Keller (Westfeldt) and Jason Fryman (Scott), who decided to do differently than their peers. No one has yet found a mate, so they decided to co-parent of the child and to remain "just friends". Thus, they hope to avoid the same fate as their friends in the comfort of romanceless marriages.

Hamm is one of his friends, Ben, who is married to Wiig (Missy). His character is not very attractive. Being in a bad marriage, he comes off as aggressive, sexist and out of touch with his feelings. Missy has become too passive and tolerant husband. As Don Draper, Ben so insistent that he drinks too much.

I do not know, I was expecting more humor and more miserable, but the film seemed tedious, it felt like 107 minutes of television sitcom without commercials. The script does an excellent job, but making fun of significant differences between couples with children and without. It was a beautiful ode to life in New York. And multi-talented Jennifer Westfeldt's amazing to look at the camera. Despite the fact that not a classic beauty, she is very attractive and convincing, that it seemed almost desperate nature of the biological clock.

It was a little embarrassing to watch the love scenes between Westfeldt and Adam Scott, knowing that her lover was probably a real floating around on the set. Nevertheless, he watched Jon Hamm was a big disappointment. It was released as a boorish and unattractive, even with a slight belly. How can the director of this to her? Was the real Don Draper total fantasy?

After the movie, I'm back home in time to catch some real time with Bill Maher on HBO. I blinked to make sure. Yes, Hamm sat at a round table with a group of eminent experts on politics. Looking as sweet as Don Draper, he impressed me with its easy mix of intellect and humor. In addition, he made me reconsider my assessment of its role as a friend to children. He was a damn good actor.
